The Winter Village Brisbane

Jun 19, 2021

It is now getting cooler down here and it is nice to visit places (but make sure to have social distancing). The Winter Village opened last June 3 until August 29, 2021 located at  Northshore Riverfront Event Site.

There are 22 private igloos with comfy armchairs where you can hang out and eat and drink with your family/friends.

I get excited about ice skating. It was my first time which cost $25.50aud for almost an hour. I can say that the rink is small and I was scared to move around more because I get anxious about bumping other persons. They're also a staff that will help you get up when you fall. I fell 3x!! But it was a really fun experience.

I suggested booking days before you want to go because tickets sold quickly. You can book here: https://thewintervillage.com.au/brisbane/

Mt Cootha
The second mountain I climbed. I thought I would not going to mountain climbing again because of the hardships I experienced on my first hike. Haha

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Feb 16, 2021

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary opened in 1927 as a safe refuge for sick, injured, and orphaned koalas, at a time when the species was being culled for the fur trade. Founder, Claude Reid, recognised something had to be done to help protect one of Australia's most iconic species. Today, Lone Pine remains as a destination for local and international guests to not only see native Australian animals, but to also connect and learn, and to leave feeling inspired to make small, positive changes in their daily lives to help protect their own native wildlife and habitats. Mt. Ngungun

Aug 20, 2020

I am not a fan of hiking and I never tried it before when I was in the Philippines. This is my very first hiking experience, i was grabbed by my sister. At first, I was really hesitant because i do not want to wake up early (to watch the sunrise). The day before the hike, i came from afternoon duty and i arrived at home around 11, and fall asleep around 2am!! I wonder if i could make it.. But there is a part of me that i want to experience it.

After a not so long drive. We arrived at Mt. Ngungun before sunset. It is said to be almost one hour hike, but just a few minutes of walking i wanted to give up. My companion said that just have some rest and walk again. So i did. I also saw little kids walking along that keeps me motivated to keep going.

In the mid of the mountain, i can already see the beautiful nature and that makes me wanted to climb faster to the top of the mountain.

We reach the top on time (before sunsets). I've seen sunsets before at the beach but not as close as this. I appreciate nature more...God created amazing Earth..

Being first-time hiker, I realized why I did not try this when I was in the Philippines. It was really fun. I am looking to discover and hike more mountains.
