Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary opened in 1927 as a safe refuge for sick, injured, and orphaned koalas, at a time when the species was being culled for the fur trade. Founder, Claude Reid, recognised something had to be done to help protect one of Australia's most iconic species. Today, Lone Pine remains as a destination for local and international guests to not only see native Australian animals, but to also connect and learn, and to leave feeling inspired to make small, positive changes in their daily lives to help protect their own native wildlife and habitats. My Experience
To be honest, the reason I went there is to have close look and feed Kangaroo, being in Australia without seeing Kangaroos!! There also lot of Koala you will see along the way. And they have board information in every animals.
There are different kind of animals in the Sanctuary. Birds, Snakes, Fish, Kangaroo and of course Koala. You can also have animal photo opportunities with them.
They also have free wifi all over the place which you can update real time on your social media :))
Touching Kangaroo is bit scary but feeding them is fun! plus seeing them hop around. And at the end, there is souvenir store.
